On January 2nd, NTCU had
great honor to welcome Dr. Umemoto
Yutaka, the Director of Kyoto
Tachibana University (abbreviated as
KTU) to sign the MoU between the two
institutions.
KTU was founded in 1967 as Tachibana Women’s
University, which had a long history
back to 1902. The University
currently consists of five faculties
and ten departments, and
approximately 4000 students. In the
meeting, Director Umemoto explained
and clarified the meaning of
university name. “Tachibana”
originated from tachibana trees
planted at the historical site of
the university. It also implied
bringing up students to have
“dignified” and “noble” personality,
connected to the tachibana symbol.
In the future, we positively expect
the two universities to develop more
exchange projects and to achieve the
deeper collaboration and cooperation
