honored as "World's Top 2%
Scientists 2023" by Stanford
University in their announcement on
October 4, 2023. This is a
remarkable achievement!
In the " World's Top 2% Scientists 2023" list released
by Stanford University, both Vice
President Gwo Jen Hwang, and Dean
from the College of Science Chiing
Chang Chen have entered to the
"Lifetime Scientific Impact Rankings
(1960-2022)" as well as the "2022
Scientific Impact Rankings."
Professor Chih Hung Wu from the
Department of Digital Content and
Technology has entered the "2022
Scientific Impact Rankings" for the
first time, demonstrating
outstanding research performance.
Gwo Jen Hwang, Distinguished chair, vice president of
NTCU has made significant
contributions in the field of
digital learning and education. His
exceptional academic achievements
have been recognized since he
assumed the role of Academic Vice
President at NTCU on Aug. 1, 2023.
He has also been honored as a
Distinguished Professor at NTCU. In
the "World's Top 2% Scientists 2023"
list, out of over 9 million
scientists, he is ranked 9,156th in
lifetime impact, placing in the top
0.1%, and 1,962nd in annual impact,
placing in the top 0.02%, both
within the top 1%. In the subfield
ranking, Taiwan had only 43 scholars
listed in the "Scientific Impact
Rankings 2022" in the field of
Education, with Vice President Huang
Guo Jen being the top-ranked in
Taiwan and 14th globally, reflecting
his fruitful academic research and
significant contributions.
The dean Chiing Chang Chen of the College of Science at
NTCU, a Distinguished Chair
Professor, has been dedicated to
areas like green energy technology
for many years and has achieved
remarkable results. In the "World's
Top 2% Scientists 2023" list, he is
ranked 76,224th in lifetime impact
and 40,225th in annual impact out of
over 9 million scientists, both
within the top 1% and 0.85%
respectively. In the field of
Chemical Engineering, Taiwan had
only 24 scholars listed in the
"Scientific Impact Rankings 2022"
with the dean of the College of
Science Chiing Chang Chen being the
4th in Taiwan and 285th globally,
highlighting his impressive academic
research and contributions.
Professor of Chih Hung Wu from the Department of
Digital Content and Technology has
been deeply involved in fields such
as artificial intelligence system
applications. This year, he has
entered the "World's Top 2%
Scientists2023" list for the first
time, ranking 206,424th in annual
scientific impact out of over 9
million scientists, placing within
the top 2%. In the field of
Artificial Intelligence & Image
Processing, Taiwan had only 123
scholars listed in the "Scientific
Impact Rankings 2022" with Professor
Chih Hung Wu being the 101st in
Taiwan and 7,305th globally,
showcasing his outstanding
