On November 21st,the Department of Language and Literacy Education hosted the Fifth Academic Lecture and invited Prof.Chianing Chu,renowned Linguist phonologist,as the Guest Speaker.The titled of lecture is 「Confucius says:"Dad, please have tea. "To reveal the secrets of phonology.」. The speaker explored phonology through the pronunciation of Dad and Tea and compared the history. The content was engaging and interesting.

     The lecture was popular and all seats were occupied. Prof.Chianing Chu explained in humorous and witty way to make the abstruse phonology interesting. All participant were so delight to attend this lecture and learn a lot . They do hope that Prof.Chianing Chu can come to NTCU again and can give more great lectures.
