The Department of Physical Education was established in 1998 to recruit admitted P.E. students and students who have passed the JCEE (Joint College Entrance Examination) with P.E. test. The past goal of the department was to train P.E. teachers in elementary schools, and in line with school transforming, a dual-track teacher education program has been the present. It is teacher and non-teacher training which emphasizes practical features, such as cooperation with the industries on leisure activities, health care, and tourism. The first P.E. performance was in May 2002 and so forth. In 2004, an undergraduate program in Sports Health Management was provided for increasing students, competitive advantages. In 2005, a master's program was established to upgrade the department's P.E. professional and academic levels. Consisting of Sports Science and Health, and Sports Pedagogy, the program contracted the policy of bachelor and master degree for whom looks forward to the P.E. master's degree. The department has 9 teachers, including 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 4 assistant professors, and 1 instructor. 6 of the teachers have doctoral degrees.
