The Opening Ceremony, “To the Linguiverse and Beyond”, of the 2026 Graduation Exhibition

The Department of Language and Literacy Education (Class of 2026) is hosting its graduation exhibition at the Qiuzhen Building Arts Center ,NTCU,from May 4 to May 14, 2026. Both of the faculty and students come to appreciate the works of great dedication and witness the fruits of the graduates’ labor on the opening reception on May 5th..

The theme, "To the Linguiverse and Beyond," captures the essence of a cosmos blooming with hope and hidden wonders. By playfully replacing the character for "Universe" (「宇」宙) with "Language" (「語」言), the exhibition highlights the department’s foundation in literacy, where students weave text and imagination through various media. Like brilliant stars colliding, the graduates have channeled four years of learning into works of immense creativity, showcasing both the beauty of the arts and their most authentic selves.

Chin-Hsien Lin ,Dean of the College of Humanities, praised the students for carrying forward the noble spirit of the literati, while Hsing-yi Ma, the chair of the department expressed heartfelt gratitude to the faculty and the esteemed guests in attendance. During the reception, students shared their "cosmic" appreciation for their six project advisors—Prof. Chou Pi-hsiang, Prof. Yang Yu-mao, Prof. Tung Shu-ling, Prof. Chen Peng-hsin, Prof. Yang Shu-hua, and Prof. Chuang Szu-lu—presenting them with thoughtfully crafted, handmade gifts.

The exhibition is curated into five categories, each embodied by a celestial element: Teaching Aids as Black Holes, Calligraphy as Spaceships, Literature as Nebulae, Picture Books as Aliens, and Seal Carving as Meteorites. Together, they orbit to form a diverse linguistic world. As graduates shared their creative visions with visitors, they hoped to transform their four-year journey into a supernova—a radiant and eternal glow in the galaxy of their lives.
