On
March 10, 2011, we had the honor
of welcoming three distinguished
guests including Vice President
Prof. Bill Purcell of the
University of Technology Sydney.
The very pleasant and
significant face-to-face meeting
was hosted by President Yang
Sze-wei and was attended as well
by Director Hu Feng-jung of
International Study Division,
Dean Hsu Tien-wei of Department
of Academic Affairs, Director
Lin Tsai-yu of Section of
Academic Affairs, Head of
General Affairs Hou Chen-tang,
eleven administrative and
academic executives in total.
This is the first visit by Vice
President Prof. Bill Purcell to
the counterpart school in
Taiwan. Through such a
significant opportunity, the
University of Technology Sydney
dignitaries tried hard to make
the striking characteristics and
advantages of the University of
Technology Sydney better known
to students in Taiwan in the
hope to create chances for
further cooperation and
interchanges. Vice President
Prof. Bill Purcell pointed out
after the rendezvous that
University of Technology Sydney
would arrange its heads of
International Interchange and
College of Education to Taiwan
for on-the-spot visits and will
arrange concrete contents for
subsequent programs. One key
point worth noticing: At the
moment more than three hundred
Taiwan students are studying at
the University of Technology
Sydney.
