Yang and Dean Chu took the direct
flight from Taiwan to New York City
(NYC) around 7:05 and the duration
of the flight was 15 hours.
08/22 The delegation invited local media and press of
NYC at 11:00 in the morning.
President Yang and the Deputy Hwang
of MOE accepted the invitation of
Chinese TV station in Greater NYC
and presented NTCU to oversea
Chinese people in the Greater NYC.

(Dr. Lee), and the Dean of
International Affairs (Dr. Chu) of

08/23 President Yang and Dean Chu re-visited NYIT and
met with President Dr. Edward
Guliano. President Yang elaborated
on the scope of dual degree program
between two universities
encompassing other departments like
Foreign Language Dept., Fine Art
Dept., Special Education Dept.,
Allied Psychological Counselling
Dept., Math Dept., and EMBA. In the
meanwhile, President Yang also met
with the NTCU student trying to
understand her learning situation.
Basically, the President of NYIT
approves that there will be two
exchange students quota for NTCU
student to NYIT yearly.

08/24~08/25
2013 Taiwan Education Fair US in the
Greater NYC.
08/27 President Yang met the President of Brigham Young
University (BYU)–Idaho (President
Dr. Kim B. Clark) and the vice
President (Dr. Edwin A. Sexton), the
two parties had a pleasant meeting
and came up with the initial verbal
agreement that BYU-Idaho is willing
to provide two exchange students
quota for NTCU students yearly. Dr.
Kim B. Clark was the former Dean of
Harvard Business School. BYU is the
third largest private university in
the USA. No coffee or beverages are
sold in the university. 98% of the
students came from Utah State. The
vice President of BYU-Idaho plans to
visit NTCU in the coming November in
return.

08/28 The
NTCU delegation met with the
representative from the Office of
International Affairs conducting the
associate discussions regarding the
new launch of student exchange
between two universities. The
auditorium can accommodate 15,000
people, which is spectacular and
impressive.





08/29
President Yang and Dean Chu start
returning to NTCU via Idaho Falls
City.
08/31The returning airplane touched down at Taiwan 5:30
in the morning.
Conclusion:
President Yang joined the 2013 Education Fairs at Great
NYC and was invited by local Chinese
Media and Press to make speech
regarding NTCU. Additionally,
President Yang also successfully
stimulated and initialized the
exchange student programs among NTCU,
NYIT, and BYU-Idaho, which increase
the achievements of NTCU in
International Affairs arena. The
visit of USA brought substantial
benefits for the faculties and
students of NTCU.
