Ursula Liu and
Pei-Jung Lin, staffs of
International Affairs and Research
Development Office, brought 64
exchange students to Miao-Li for
experiencing Hakka culture.
In order to increase interaction opportunities among
exchange students, Office of
International Affairs and Research
Development arranged a one-day tour
after mid-term exam. On December
1st, the first spot is U-Gu cultural
village. Students saw the procedures
of making pottery and grounded “Re
Tea”. Through these experiences,
they understood a way that Hakka
people treat guests. Then they went
to Sen-Chin Train Station. They
walked around there, took pictures
and tasted Hakka dishes. Lots of
exchange students bought many
souvenirs. In the afternoon, they
went to Remains of Longteng Bridge
to understand ways of building a
bridge in the long time ago.
Because of this tour, exchange students not only
understood Hakka culture, but also
experienced Hakka traditional food.
It was a really wonderful and
amusing tour. (Translated by Ursula
