The 2014
Taiwanese Culture Winter Program for
Seoul National University of
Education (SNUE) was held by
National Taichung University of
Education over a nine-day period
from January 20 to 28. Led by
Professors Kyoung-Sun Cho and Jai-Yeon
Paik, 22 SNUE students participated
in the winter program. What is more,
Professor Bang-Chool Kim, Dean for
International Relation of SNUE,
squeezed a visit to our university
on January 20 into his very busy
schedule.
The program was held by the Office of International
Affairs and Research Development
with the help of 23 NTCU students.
The program included Chinese
language courses, taught by four
teachers, Chinese calligraphy,
taught by Associate Professor Yu-Mao
Yang, and Taiwanese puppets, taught
by Master Yin-Jun Wang. Moreover,
the Korean students had their first
experience of making Taiwanese
cookies-pop rice. After their
four-day stay at NTCU, they visited
some historic sites, including
Lukang and Taoyuan.
At the farewell party, students from SNUE expressed
their gratitude for the hospitality
they received from us and exchanged
gifts with our students. A talent
show was held after the farewell
party, and students of both
universities enjoyed themselves.
This winter program is a very important activity for
NTCU and SNUE. Through this
activity, students of both
universities can make friends with
one another, and we look forward to
more interactions between NTCU and
SNUE. (Translated by Ursula Liu)
