Farewell Party
On
January 29, Dean Chu invited Mr.
Vaclav Jilek, representative of
Czech Economic and Cultural Office
to visit President Wang and be a
very important guest at the welcome
party.
The Spectacular Taiwan Culture Winter Camp
ended on February 6 successfully.
The winter camp is from January 28
to February 6. This year, students
are not only from National Seoul
University of Education but also
from Newton College and Leeds
Trinity University to participate in
this winter camp. Professor Eom Woo
Seop led 22 SNUE students and
Professor Jan Orava led 12 NTC
students.
The winter camp was held by the
Office of International and
Cross-Strait Affairs / Research and
Development with the help of 43 NTCU
students, including 41 native
students and 2 international
students. The program included
Chinese language courses, taught by
four teachers, Chinese calligraphy,
taught by lecturer Yung-Hua Shih,
and Taiwanese puppets, taught by
Master Yin-Jun Wang. Moreover, all
international students had their
first experience of making Taiwanese
cookies-pop rice and paper making.
Besides Chinese courses and cultural
courses, they visited some famous
and historic sites, including Sun
Moon Lake and Taoyuan.
At the welcome party, all of our
helpers singed songs and danced to
welcome our guests. Students from
Newton College singed their local
songs and played some games with all
participants. At the farewell party,
all international students expressed
their gratitude for the hospitality
they received from us and our
helpers played a video which covered
lots of photos within 10 days.
This winter camp is a very important
activity for NTCU. Through this
activity, our students can not only
understand culture difference but
also enhance their ability in
English. Meanwhile, we create an
international environment for our
students. (Translated by Ursula Liu) |
