Taiwan is 12th if we look at country rankings in education and has an even a stronger position , 4 th, in E-learning. According to the global manufacturing scorecard (2018), Taiwan is 10th on the list of the leading countries in manufacturing output. Taiwan should continue to invest in R&D and talent development especially in Taiwan’s competitive niche of manufacturing and its possible application in the age of artificial intelligence so that Taiwan has a key role to play.

VoLWhat is the university's stance on strengthening ties between academia and industries?

It is essential for the university to collaborate with industry closely so that research findings and new knowledge produced by the university academia can be transferred to industries for upgrading their practices and then maintaining their competitive advantages. There is a great possibility for the university academia to benefit from this close collaboration due to the possibilities of deeper observation of industrial current practice and getting more applicable value of the research they are doing and what to do.
