The Department of Education, originally named the Department of Elementary Education, was established in 1987. A master's program was added in 1992 and a doctoral program was added in 2000. In 2004, the department and the graduate institute were combined as the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, which was renamed the Department of Education in 2006. Students in this department not only enroll in elementary education courses, but also are encouraged to choose an area of specialization such as administration, education business management, counseling and guidance, textbook research and development, or instruction and curriculum development. The department faculty members all have excellent backgrounds in the field of education. The faculty includes 4 professors, 12 associate professors, and 1 assistant professor, all of whom have doctoral degrees. |
